The E-2 Visa Validity Period Script

Hi, this is Ben Frear. And I just wanted to record this quick introduction to the video that you are about to watch.

In the video, I share the validity period for the E-2 Visa.

Now, you would think that the validity period is the same regardless of what country you are from. But unfortunately, that is not the case. So, this video will show you the current validity period for your country of nationality. All of this information can also be found by looking at the visa reciprocity schedule. If you want more information on the visa reciprocity schedule you can check out the video that I made on that topic.

In addition to sharing the validity period, I mention the countries that have limits on the number of E-2 Visa entries. If you don’t see anything that mentions the number of entries, that means that the E-2 Visa is good for multiple entries.

Another thing that I should mention is that the visa validity period has no relation to the period of stay. Each time you enter the US you get two years of status even if your visa is good for a shorter period of time. So, for example, nationals of Egypt get a 3 month E-2 Visa. Does that mean that an Egyptian national can only run a business in the US on E-2 status for 3 months? No, because upon entry you get two years of status. But, if you leave the US after the expiration of your visa, you will have to make arrangements to renew it before you can come back into the US in E-2 status.
